With the 23rd pick in the 1st round of the 2011 NFL draft the Eagles selected Baylor guard Danny Watkins. Watkins was probably the best guard in the draft and he can step in immediately and start at right guard for the Birds, filling a huge need for them to protect Mike Vick's blind side. With highly touted prospects Gabe Carimi and Dequan Bowers still on the board when they selected, Watkins was not a sexy selection, but he was safe, he fills need and I can't find fault with that.
