Joe Blanton went on the DL earlier this week so Vance Worley was forced to make the start tonight at Bank and boy did he deliver. He tossed 6 shutout innings, allowing just 2 hits and striking out 5. Meanwhile the Phil's bats stayed hot as they racked up another 10 runs on 10 hits. The leading man was undoubtedly Ryan Howard who slammed a 2 run homer and a grand slam for an incredible 6 RBI night. Thanks to Howard the Phils ran out to an 8-0 lead through 6th. In the 7th a 2 run single by Placido Polanco made it 10-0. Danys Baez followed with a scoreless 8th inning before the Mets finally scratched out a few runs in the 9th off David Herndon, but it was too little too late as the Phils won going away 10-3.
